Two People, One Heart ... Lost

They said that they were untouchable
That not even God could break them apart
They shared their lives and dreams
And they even shared the same heart

Two people come as one, forever
Is what they told everyone every day
Wrapped up together, so perfect
And that was how they believed they'd stay

Until one wet and windy night driving
Through a busy, misty town
Another car came from nowhere
Their car slipped from the road as the rain poured down

Lightning struck as the car crashed
Fire and flame mixed with the rain
She cried out as he was thrown from the car
In a great explosion things would never be the same

He stood and screamed for her
Running forward to the burning car
He saw her inside, he saw her fade
As the smoke covered her face, she drifted afar

He knew she was gone but couldn't take it
He screamed and screamed her name
'Julia, Julia … please come back to me, please …
Please don't be gone, please, let me see you once again … '

He fell to his knees, shivering, shaking
Their shared heart slowly breaking, he began to cry
Sorrow his only companion now, he screams once more
'My God, My God …. WHY?'
