Religious Hypocrisy

His eyes reveal visions of guilt
Of which we are compelled to obey
His Lord, He is Christ Almighty
Follow whatever Our Father has to say

He gave up His life for us
Crucified at the cross for us
People die everyday, it's part of life
None of which desire divine servitude

We are God-fearing people
What does that mean anyway?
That the bible shows a man so benevolent
A man that we are told to fear?

Everyday people fight for their religion
Where has that gotten us?
Through religion wars and discrimination is set
Under His own belief of what's right

There is a larger world
Than what He wishes us to see
Larger than the man made servitude
Of hatred and hypocrisy

So i pray to you, know
Before wondering what others said
Before following a simple book
Look to your own thoughts instead

*I'm not against religion, i just hate how some people follow one religion so steadfast that they become ignorant to other cultures.*

    So many people loose it when it comes to writing about religion. However you have penned an absolutley outstanding and comprehensive piece. With a very worthwhile explaination at the end. I loved this.
