They walked along
The summer path,
As the sun set
Into the sky.

Knowing true love
Lie in the hand,
Wrapped around their own.

The flowers in bloom,
And the smiling moon,
Brought their happiness
In their final night.

He’d kiss her hand
And part his way
Until the sun
Did rise once more.

The lover’s night
Came to an end
With a soft kiss
Beneath the porch light.

She smiled at him
And walked through the door
Knowing the future
Would bring many more.
