I have a friend (understatement)

I have this friend, a bearer of a soul
One that contains a sense of self-control
Her spirit soars above, and guides me daily
She easily keeps me from going crazy...

She's a woman, a goddess, a heaven-sent gift
She deters my depression and gives me a lift
We've had experiences, from where we learned
It's to her I've always and normally turned

In all appreciation, filled with gratitude
I feel I'm the one who "gets" her attitude
She's a positively good-natured loyal friend
Who holds my affection forever until the end

In her I confide, I speak of my truth
I'm blessed in every way possible as a youth
I pray to God and thank Him up Above
For sending her to me with her special Love
