The Edge

by AllHailTheHeartbreaker   Mar 30, 2005

~Sorry it doesn't rhyme... I just had the urge to write something that didn't rhmye for a change.~

I'm standing on the edge now
And there's no going back
I sigh a deep sigh
And finally let go.

Everything I've held close
Everything familiar
I leave it all behind
As I drift into my own world.

Pen and paper within reach
And I'm who I want to be
No one to tell me what, when or where
The only one in control is me.

There's a fire within
A storm suddenly brewing
With flame and thunder come words
Powerful meaning and emotion.

Beauty in ink, on paper
An art, an expression
No rules, no control
When you're on the edge.

*No, this is NOT a suicide poem! I'm not really standing on the edge of something (like a 100-story building, for example) it's hypothetical.
