A picture of a better life

A little girl with a secret
can hide her from fears
For if she dose not
all that she holds will
soon Disappear

Every one points and
laughs
but they do not know the
tears that she holds back

When she goes home
shes all alone
so she sits and colors
imaging a whole different
world were every thing is OK

When her mom's boyfriend
doesn't come home and rape
her everyday

She colors a picture of a
better life

With sky's that are as
blue as a it can be

Green grass as soft as
a baby's skin were her
and her mom were happy
again

,and a sun that never went
down and shined with
the happiness that was
all around

she pictures herself running
though the green grass
under the sky and loving
sun

she runs to a familiar
voice that she had always
loved

Suddenly her dream goes
away she tries to
go to sleep a dream of
a better day

,But its to late she is pickup
and told to stand a certain
way

Then her mom comes home
and she hopes its OK

She runs to her mom telling
the things that he had done

Her mom just stands there
and begins to cry and screams
at her and tells her it's a lie

The next day she made up her
mind

She was going to leave
her mom behind

To go to a place were her
dad was there

and thats all she wrote

When her mom came home
her baby was alone with a
picture of were she was

She picks up the picture and
drops to her knees and begins
to crys
