Living the Nightmare

by Avellana   Mar 30, 2005

Don’t dismiss the words unspoken
The reasons behind the dreams
Reminded of experiences
The reasons for their screams

Re-opened through a memory
The kind that always needs
For you to be as low as the moment you felt
It’s only then can it feed

A soul that’s just too fractured
Too tired to wake up and see
Only accept their life will end
Before it can show who they’ll be

A body kept so safe
A soul that can’t be freed
Thrust to shadows, kept out of light
The blade, their company

Too scared to speak, express a view
All opinions are kept inside
Returned to the ever enveloping dark
The place only happiness hides

Though, occasionally to wonder
Where it all went wrong
When their house of cards comes falling down
With fear-where they belong?
