Misplaced Words

by Heather M Craig   Apr 1, 2005

To my baby sister, Kristi

We've rose together in a home
with belittlement and despair
but we've grew hand in hand
and built our own comfort and care.

Each day, I watch you grow
and fade the title of little girl,
you have begun your journey
into setting eyes with the world.

I long to block your road of life
so you can pass up the pain,
I wish to rid the wrong choices
but I must keep myself retained.

Sometimes conflicts are risen
but it makes me love you more,
the smiles and secrets we share
is the animosity's simple cure.

Not a day passes without you here
and I give you such little credit,
blessing from thy God a sister as you,
the one friend I will never forget.

So when we fight and words are thrown,
and no matter what we go through,
it's the words I often misplace in anger,
but I want you to know I'll always love you.

Heather M Craig

--Although shes just 12, she has a much more mature heart and mind than I give her credit for. Although I doubt her, I know she's there unlike no other =)
