Disturbed by Darkness

by Lost Girl   Apr 1, 2005

Once again you steal me
Away from the place I was unharmed
Safe within the daylight hours
Now dark sounds its alarm

Crawling in the shadows
Unaware of what follows me
Behind a tree, against a wall
So dark I can not see

I stumble over tree trunks
In the dark I feel no pain
Something’s breathing down my neck
I fear he is there again

It is behind me once more
Running faster, forever falling
In the darkest black of night
It is my name he is calling

Jet black silhouettes
Against ebony skies
Screams that curdle the blood
Ring out as daylight dies

*inspired by my dreams and nightmares*
