Memories

by hOlly   Apr 1, 2005

If you don’t remember me,
At least remember this,
That night when the clouds swallowed up the sky,
And you leaned in for a kiss.

If you don’t remember me,
Please don’t forget that day,
The sea was nice and calm,
And those three words you would say.

If you don’t remember me,
At least remember why,
Why that day you left me,
Left me alone to cry.

If you don’t remember me,
I hope that one day you will learn,
Not to leave a girl alone,
At least with no concern.

If you don’t remember me,
You will very soon recall,
That day you left me in the park,
The day I felt so small.

Because that was the day I died,
As I lay there on the ground,
And crying my heart out for you,
A stranger heard my sound.

This stranger he had no heart you see,
But with no heart he had a gun,
I tried my best to fight back,
But in the end he won.

And now I hope you remember me,
As the girl you left alone,
You broke my heart and let it rot,
In a park so far from home.

Even though the stranger killed me,
Shot me in the heart,
It did not make a difference.
It was broken from the start.
