Stop Copying (Two Views)

by paulina.♥   Apr 1, 2005

Stupid, child, must you copy me?
Pretending to be like me,
To fit into a category.

Stop dressing like I do,
All you need to be is you.
Stop acting like I do,
Pretending that your
Image is “true.”

You’re not like me.
You never will be.
Stop coming into my room,
It will most likely be your tomb.

You make me yell at the time,
Then you just stare at me like I am a mime.
I’m not being silent,
I’m being loud.
You won’t listen to me,
Then you act proud.

Stop trying to pull off the whole rebellion act,
You look so stupid while faking,
And that is a fact.
Child, just go be alone.
And find a stereotype to call your own.

Just stop.
You’re young,
Go listen to pop.
Dress in pink,
Then dance like N*SYNC.
Just leave me alone.

---

But Big sister, I want to be like you,
Doing the things that teenagers do.
I don’t want to be the younger one anymore.
To tell you the truth, 5th grade is a bore.
Sister, it is you that I adore.

You look so much older,
Your clothes so much bolder,
The music you listen to is not pop or rap.
I’m not sure what it is, but it’s not crap.

Sister, I want to do what you do,
But you always say that I am copying you.
I just want to be a good sister.
Yes, it is really true.
Sister, I want to be you, too!

Heh. No, not my brother. If it was my brother, I would have said it was my brother. It was just random people I met, annoying the hell out of me.
