His World

by Sarah   Apr 2, 2005

There's nothing greater to see
Than a boy sitting on his grandfather's knee.
Wondering what'll happen if his grandfather ever leaves.
He starts telling the boy that one very special day,
He'll meet a girl and fall in love,
Have a house, and a family of his own.
And his presence in the world will be made known.
His grandfather is growing weaker with each passing hour,
Not knowing when things will finally go sour.
The boy wants to find hope, faith,
And the love his grandfather told him about.
The grandfather has just passed to another place,
And the boy has just seen a comforting face.
It's his love, his life, and his world.
And she's been there every step of the way.
His world was torn to pieces when his grandfather passed away,
And felt like there was nothing more that he could withstand.
But was brought back together by a single touch of her hand.
They stand looking at the coffin being lowered,
And a solitary tear rolls down the boys' cheek.
