The clock

by katie!   Apr 2, 2005

The clock is ticking her life away
Trickling through the hour glass
Sooner rather than later her time will come
Her life will be but a speck in the past

The clock is ticking her strength away
Pouring away from her beaten soul
As she puts on a brave face and smiles
Everyone knows this woman is no longer whole

The clock is ticking her friends away
Embarassed to talk to her because she is ill
In her wheelchair they cross the street
Down her spine runs a sad, cold chill

The clock is ticking away her smiles
Once so regular now a miracle to see
The clock is ticking away her life
Taking her away from me
