The forest

by Elynnka   Apr 2, 2005

Somewhere in the forest
The trees catch life
They crawl in the darkness
Running from the moon light.

Ghosts of enslaved souls,
Haunting among the vaults
Screaming in the night,
They run out of sight.

Rising from the shadows
Carrying his bloody sickle
Disturbing the silence,
Death looks for the next victim.

Somewhere in the town nearby
Cold drops of rain fall from the sky.
Dogs go insane, chew on their chain
Then howl at the rain…

A little girl hides in a corner of her room
She’s hoping the thunder will stop soon.
Innocent child, scared by the dark
She falls asleep as the dogs bark.

Death’s come to slay her while she still sleeps,
But the child wakes as the door creeks…
He swings his sickle as she tries to run
And slights her throat making her numb…

He carries her dead body to the forest
Leaving a trail of blood behind…
Summoning his demons from where they hide,
He drops her on the spikes that rise from the ground.

Somewhere in the forest
The silence is deceiving
The sun never shines
And the trees are bleeding.
