In her wheelchair

by katie!   Apr 3, 2005

A beautiful old woman in a wheelchair
Afraid to go out now, she has so much fear
Sitting there, a shadow of who she once was
From her eyes a constant stream of tears

Frail and beautiful, a butterfly without wings
As she attempts to fly
Being rejected by her friends because she looks so ill
She wants to ask them the reasons why

Her husband so strong does everything for her
And her love for him will always stay
Fear of the inevitable death is constant
She would love to have walked for one more day

This wonderful old woman
So strong for all the people by her side
Being laughed at in her wheelchair
The smiley person she once was has finally died

*this is for my gran*
