Melancholy Star

by Eden   Apr 4, 2005

One day the sky melts and stars fall down shining. Angels crying testimonies and wisps of darkness coating. Mourning, doling duties follow, yonder crystal sparrow glow...The melting beauty of the sky scorching my skin below.

Standing, not running; locked in the sand; the sea of fire melting skin and my hand. In right hand holding invisible something not able to feel what's there.

Stars fall all around me, pounding on the ground, making melancholy crowned on unearthly immortal sound. Hearts run free yet imprisoned so, for unlike angelic spirits' flight, to muck and mire bound.

I am still. I stand like this,
Face and eyes take in the scene.
Nothing has and never is
The things which I have seen.
I am prepared and they are not
Under silver-blue eyes' sight.
I welcome such a promise now
I make not my way to flight.
