Hundreds of Blades

by Megan Mc   Aug 22, 2003

I lie in my bed
Eyes deathly wide open
The sheets and floor turn crimson
As I wince in agony

Hundreds of blades
Penetrate my back
Each with a known name
etched in the grips

They keep coming
Harder and deeper
Reopening scars and wounds
With each thrust of their wrists

Nothing will stop them
So I close my eyes
And endure the pain
Like so many times before

The cruel reality
Of the price you pay
For opening your heart
And letting people in
