Erasing the Angel of Deceit

You told me I was perfection on legs.
But how can whats perfect hurt so much?
If we're not right for each other,why do you want me to stay?
That's the problem with us...we stay together just because it feels so right.
I don't want to be with you "just" because it's comfortable and you understand me.
I want to be with you because you want to be with me.
I have my reasons, you have your lies.
Shrouds of deception binded with ties.
Ties that bind, ties that lead, lead straight to my misery.
You don't mean to deceive...you believe your lies to be true.
Truth is deception with wings and a halo stuck to you.
You are my angel, but even angels fall from grace.
What we have I'd soon but erase.
Erase to make you happy, erase to make me sad.
My time with you written in pen, forever sketched in my head.
I know now that some things are better written in pencil.
Easy to fix my past transgressions.
But ink whited-out leaves a mark on my heart.
A mark left on my heart that reminds me of you...knowing that what we had could have been true.
