Playing so perfectly

by Sabine Taylor   Apr 5, 2005

Playing a role
Playing yourself
Playing with the appearance
Playing with the truth
Playing with your mind

Can‘t you see
That you play
With your mind and soul
You fake the truth
But most at all
You fake yourself

But I should not be unfair
To you
You‘re playing your role
So perfect
That some might think
That you play yourself

But I know
I can remember
The time
When you did not play
You just were
The one you were

When the truth
Was not worth to fake
For you
Or did you just play
Like you play now

The beautiful appearance
Is the only thing
The other ones see
When they look at you
But is it worth that ?
For you

Does it not have to feel
So terrible
When you always fake ?
How can you survive ?

Because for one thing
I am sure
You can‘t fake your soul
No make-up, no award
Can ever fake your feelings
Deep in side of you

Or are you that perfect ?
Am I mistaken ?
Can you even fake your soul ?
I can‘t believe
But if it‘s possible
If you can
Tell me
Then I won‘t try anymore
To tell you
That you will delete yourself
My hope is not lost yet

*I think that most of you have discovered this feeling when you saw a friend faking himself to appeal to other ones.
So please, vote and comment on my poem. That would mean a lot for me.
Thanks

I was not faking when I held Lisa Valentine's hands, looked her in the eyes, and told her that I love her. I was sweating bullets. But that was all me, for a brief moment.

All the things I am writing aren't related to you , you have to learn that. You are not the centre of the world.

The Role is painful. I never wanted to be this way. And I hope that I can change as soon as possible. But I can not change alone. It's too painful.
