Pretending

by Jenn   Apr 5, 2005

Soft green eyes.
Hiding sweet words unspoken.
Inside a sweet, gentle mind.
The words become misplaced, mistaken.

"It's all in your head." They tell her.
"It's not real.
"You're only lying to yourself." They yell to her.
"You're too young to know how you feel."

But she knows they are wrong.
Her heart's broken vessels are proof.
"I'm not lying to myself." She screams.
"I'm lying to you."

A song replays itslef
in and out of her thoughts.
"I'll be just fine" She sings.
"...Pretending I'm not."

Yes, I ripped off The Used. SUE me.
