Death and destruction
Fear and despair
Nothing is what it should be
Terrorism
Communism
The world is resting in unease
Chaos is swirling all around me
All I can do is get on my knees
Children are starving
Their parents are dying
Hunger and sickness prevail
In the midst of this hurricane
I fall on my knees
I bend my head and pray
The eye of the hurricane
Comes swirling to meet me
I look up in the sky
I see the horrors the hurricane left
I close my eyes and cry
Poverty and AIDS
Murders and genocides
Who can make this all end?
Dictators and false promises
Freedom hanging on a thread
Is there something that I can do?
Or will we all be left for dead?
In the midst of this hurricane
I fall on my knees
I bend my head and pray
The end of the hurricane
Comes rushing past me
I look around at the few things that still stand
Glancing toward heaven I roll up my sleeves
And go and offer a helping hand
