Sorry, Love Charlette

by Aly   Apr 6, 2005

A fight is a fight but when hate is involved, it's more.
Why are you doing this to me when you know it's hurting me.
I'm talking to you, please listen
Please...
You're breaking me, nerve by heart.
My mind is slowly falling insane,
As I lay by your grave, you've taken me too.
With all of your hate and all we've been through.
But I won. I beat you, like a childish game.
As I laugh at you, under the ground, rotting away.
But even through my stern outer appearance, you can see.
See right through to the tears welding in my eyes.
For I have won nothing but the guilt arming my body.
And you know this.
I can almost feel the tears lining your eyes as well.
Because you're sorry
I look to the sky in hoping you can read my mind.
I'm so sorry.
Barely breathing, I finally stop pretending and let you hold me.
In your arms of air, I lay.
And I almost hear you say,
"Please forgive me, Charlotte dear."
And you start to fade away.
I lay beyond your stone
Still weeping, I read the carve.
"Loving husband and dear old man" it read.
It's so hard to let go of someone you know had a good heart.
But sitting there so lightly.
With you beneath my knees
I lose my breath and let go of my heart.
I'll see you in heaven, honey..
