Where were you

by Amy Jo   Apr 6, 2005

You say through prayer we will survive
You say through sin we learn to strive
You believe with heaven there's a hell
You believe with sickness there's well

Well...where were you
when grandma died
when the planes on 9-11 flied
during World War two
if you already knew

I believed...
Through thick and thin you'd come through
to our prayers you'd always be true
i believed you could save us all
and kept those two towers standing tall

You saw...
the holocaust before it came
and who of all would be to blame
the Japanese's great plot
before pearl harbor was even fought
written..
down history shows your failures
is a bible with no fears
written down is a story with Adam and Eve
Before Eden did they both have to leave.

No, tomorrow isn't promised today
And that isn't all I have to say

Billions of innocent and guilty die
Many more will tell a single lie
many people pray every night,
but to them you show the light.

With my...
belief in you so strong
love for you lasting so long
With my prayer I try to give
With my life, I try to live

Through it all...
I know you're still kinda there
Answering a child's single prayer
I still have faith in you
I still don't know what to do

Time after time...
I start to doubt
I start to pout
I'll question my faith
"forget you" I'll try not to say it

God I hope by now you know
that my love i try to show
and i believe you too
even through the things you don't do
