Freezing Up **my first poem in my poem book**

Listening to the clock
ticking life away
reminds me of how you
will never be that way
my mind will never grasp it
I can't seem to retain it
you shine through the fog
while I get left behind
covered in my layer of unwilling smog

Help me now
I'm freezing up
you can't comprehend
how you make me feel---
When I
don't have your answer
and I don't have the strength
to live up to your standard
'cause now I"m freezing up...

Break my will to go on
living this unforgiving lie
I work for my life
while you let it pass by
to pick up only what you want
never facing the pain
of failing to succeed
I can't laugh or feign
why I let this happen
I've let you get away
with too many of your
tricks to deceive me
and everyone who knows you
can't trust your voice

You'll never escape the life you've led
Now it has come here to follow you
The Grim Reaper at your back...
