As you lived your life in fear,

As I wiped your every tear.

You told me to keep my head up,
As you stared at the ground,
You told me never to add to the lies,
As from them I made no sound.

You told me to make the most of my day,
As you dreaded each rising sun,
You told me to hang on to then end,
As your hell had just begun.

You told me to be careful,
As you lived your life in danger,
You told me to stay happy,
As each of my emotions turned stranger.

You told me to try and trust you,
As I have to make my own choices too,
You told me to be special,
As you told me to never live life like you…
