My Island

by Content   Apr 7, 2005

Can you hear my secrets
Upon the whispers of my waves,
Can you hear me calling you
From the emptiness of my cave.

Do you see the message
That says I need you near,
The boat I set sail for you
So that it could bring you here.

Do you not feel the rain,
Or the wind that blows around you.
Help me, I can barely breath,
The sea has me trapped and there is nothing I can do.

I call you so loudly
That now I have no strength,
I cannot fight it any longer.
I’m drowning, dying. I only ever knew pretence.

Expressive, indeed. You have great voice through your poems.
