You're my religion

by Monika   Apr 8, 2005

You're like a butterfly and each wing is a world,
with the strength of a boy and the passion of a girl.
Your eyes are planets of deceit,
one is a thief of universal love
and the other is a promise so powerful you could never keep.
Your smile is hope,
that always says yes
when it really means no-
yet it always means maybe I'll love you tomorrow.
Your name is a message in a bottle,
I was never suppose to read,
because every syllable in your name has a thorn that makes my heart bleed.
You are my religion
which I pray to everyday,
because the price of loving you
is one that takes a lifetime to pay.
But you see...
My prayer is a poem about a love-
so powerful and perfect that could never be.
