Because of you I awake each day

I've lost things more important than life,
I've even tried to take mine a time or twice...
I never knew how lost I was until I found you
You make the world an easier place to live.
I have something to look forward to at day's end.
To smell your scent, to taste your lips
For this is my true drug... the closeness of your soul.
The knowledge that you will never go.
This confuses me to no end, the feelings you have.
I can be so selfish... yet you stay.
I can hurt you... and you still love me.
For this, all I have to ask is why.
Why do you stay? Why do you care?
It tears me up knowing that I can't be there...
To hold you and say everything is going to be alright...
To show you I care...
To wipe the tears that you cry because of me...
You have no idea how deep my love for you goes.
I only pray each day that my actions show (it).
NOTE:: My boyfriend wrote this poem for me. He didn't use any punctuation, so I added it in. He also can't decide on a title, so I put both of his ideas up.
