My Superman

by MissSideways   Apr 8, 2005

I always was a solemn child,
with nothing much to say,
driven further desolate,
the night mum went away,

at 4 years old I didn't know,
I didn't understand,
But daddy sat and spoke to me,
And softly pat my hand,

"You know I love you very much,
but mummy needs some space..."
with these words I raised my eyes,
tears streaming down his face,

solemnity forgotten with the
sight of Daddy's tears,
before me crumbling was the man,
who chased away my fears,

It broke my heart to see his tears,
I learnt to feel that night,
My daddy is my superman
and mum's his kryptonite
