Somewhere over the rainbow

by katie!   Apr 8, 2005

Somewhere over the rainbow
Is a place I cannot find
Trapped like a bird in a cage now
Inside my insanity driven mind

Somewhere over the rainbow
so many people smile
But all I see is their houses burning
Bodies all in a charred pile

Somewhere over the rainbow
Lies some happiness in some form
Yet no matter how I search I cant find it
As I lay here, my heart so torn

Somewhere over the rainbow
You are waiting for me
But my eyes stayed glued together
Your face I no longer see

Somewhere over the rainbow
Lies a true life
Where I can break my shell
And live without my knife

Somewhere over the rainbow
Where there are no scars on my arms
And people are genuine and happy and true
There is no need for self harm

Somewhere over the rainbow
So very far away from here
As I give up my search and succumb to death
And the voices that whisper in my ears...

I really like this one katie. You are a good writer and can put emotions into your poems i espesally like:
    "Somewhere over the rainbow
    Lies a true life
Where I can break my shell
    And live without my knife"
That bit flows really well and i like the sound of being over that rainbow.
*sighs*. oh well another 5/5 from me. Keep it up.
