Vampirical Night

by Eden   Apr 9, 2005

Full of nighttime peace and grace
Remembering time in its wake.
Moonlit flowers like silver streams
And grass of purest jade it seems.
Nothing in this life surpasses this
As I wake each night to eternal bliss.
And this shall go on forever, each night
Until seeing fog lift in early dawn’s light,
Then go to sleep once more,
Not ever in the future to see a sunrise.
Surely mortals cannot comprehend
This peaceful vacancy of existence
That I should lay in my coffin
Till dusk raises me,
To feel the coolness of the dark wind.
Rain falling on my white skin
As I look for my evening prey,
But most joyous is the moonlit nights
Where I am alone, watching mortals live life.
Life I no longer have,
And shall never have again;
To feel another’s love against my skin…
It sorrows me to think such things
As I stare up to the stars.
Much longer can I stand this? No.
But I am not afraid.
I have lived my life.
Oh if only to see one more birth of sunlight,
The doom of it arousing such pleasure and fear.
As I sit on this hillside watching for dawn
To remember my last sunrise makes me cry.
Tears of blood falling down my cheek from my eyes
As sunlight pours into them from over the red mountains,
Causing my demise.
