Phony People

by Kristin   Apr 9, 2005

What happened to this world?
Every child is growing faster,
Everyone is changing their body,
They say they are a disaster.

Why must you fit the mold?
When you are perfect?
Why do you try so hard?
Do you not like the face you reflect?

I really just don't understand,
why people are doing these things,
Fake tans, colored hair, new trends,
Why must they have diamond rings?

People are ruining their bodies,
to make them feel like they belong,
when in reality,
their thinking is so wrong.

Why do you care what others think?
Why did your morals change?
Is this the way to be accepted?
Why must you always feel strange?

Can't you just feel happy?
With what God has given you?
You really are quiet fortunate.
Why can't you get the clue.

I am sick of all these teenagers.
Ruining their lives,
Just to seem perfect,
when on the inside they think of knives.

I am tired of trying to understand,
so I shall give up today,
I am through with you people,
Go ahead and mold your body like clay.

I totally agree! The world is all about perfection! You look at some of these people who have had plastic surgery and they don't even look real. You write what's true! Enjoyed it! Another good poem! Brooke!
