Today was that day when the world longed to start over again,
When our God in heaven came down to men,
When the earth did not yet know the sins they've lead,
And always believed what the other said,
But today when Mary gives birth to a child very special indeed,
He is the child that the world did need,
A little child was born in Bethlehem today,
I heard it from the shepherds down our way,
He's lying in a stable near; he’s lying in the hay,
Someday he will be king the shepherds did say,
The news had spread around of this happy morn,
Jesus Christ the saviour of the world is born.
