Three Small Words

She never knew
that three small words
could mean so very much.

When he said
those three small words
a chill went through her spine.

She said I love you too He said
you're the only one for me.

But then one day,
she went to visit

he said Honey, I'm in my room,
I'll be out in a minute

Okay, she said
she heard some whispers,
then a high pitched giggle

she said sweetie who is that?
he said its just the tv

then she looked to her left and saw a sweater of pink

she jumped up
off the sofa
and ran out the door

ignoring his call,
she jumped in her car,
and slammed the door,

she drove to her house
jumped in her bed
and cried herself to sleep

the next day, he called
and she said you said you loved me
