Comfort of them

by Amy Jo   Apr 10, 2005

Ashes burn up into the wind,
The smell gives the greeting to a friend.
A mile away the love can be found
Without giving a single sound

Shadows dancin on the home walls
At this time nobody calls
Hearts beating at a constant rate
In the end this will all be fate

Twisting and turning in one spot
None of this did they have to plot
Naturally this comfort will comes
The same place they're all from

Smallest things remembered.
Sleeping child is carried
back home to sleep in their bed
After dinner's been past fed

Drooping eyes from relaxation
Warmth and smell all sensation
Feathers and cotton of relief
Hopefully this will help them sleep

No fun being had; nothing accomplished.
But quickly this night will finish.
People of good company
Every detail a bit too funny

Laughter at the rarest things
Sleepiness below the legs
Numbness to the body's rest
Putting patience to a different test

When they leave they really don't go
Because to call back they know
Talk away the rest of the night
Not going to end this in a fight

Sleep is comforting after all this
Wouldn't need another wish
Good night to all and hope you well
Nothing left to share and tell
