Night Out

by Gemmie Lou   Apr 10, 2005

My head hurts,
my body aches.
Why do I do this to myself?
Oh I know,
because I've seen you with her.
You flirt and dance,
and generally romance.
I sit there with my mates and take another drink.
I throw them down my neck and close my eyes.
If I cant see you,
maybe the hurt will go away.
I open my eyes,
you're still there.
I take another drink,
spark up a fag.
My aim,
to pass out.
I know I shouldn't,
I know it's wrong.
My stomach starts to roll,
I stand up, the room spins.
I walk outside, take out my phone,
taxi please I want to go home.
We pull up outside,
I pay my money, find my key and go in.
Yet again all alone,
I know where you'll be,
with her, where else.
My night is over and guess what it is,
ruined,
and all because of one thing - You!

I know how you feel for sure

    My stomach starts to roll,
I stand up, the room spins

that was my favorite part of this poem

but even though this didnt have a set rhyme scheme i think the rhyming did exsist and im usually not a fan of messy rhymes but it just seemed to work well here and everything flowed great 5/5

I can really relate to these lines:

Why do I do this to myself?
    Oh I know,
because I've seen you with her.
    You flirt and dance,
    and generally romance.

It's a great poem. Keep writing.
