Wants and needs

by SammiBABY   Apr 10, 2005

Little girl in Africa doesn’t know better,
Than the life she leads,
Where she is sent to work for so little,
No focus on her many needs.
How does this girl get through each day,
without water or food?
How does she work dehydrated, in heat,
and still remain in a good mood?
Taken from her family, sold as a slave,
so her sisters could survive,
A life drenched in poverty,
This young girl deserves a life.
She would love to go to school
But it’s too expensive, she can’t go
Does not get an education,
Even when she wants it so.
And she works all day, open to disease
But no medication is ensured,
so little to ask to see a doctor
so unlikely for her to afford.

Little boy in Sydney doesn’t no better,
Than the life he leads,
The world handed to him on a silver platter
But still has so many needs.
How can he live another day,
without a brand new video game?
And what’ll he do without his Levi jeans,
He’d be living in torture and shame.
He wants to go to Disneyworld
This is something, he has never seen,
He feels he has a right to go,
because he has never been.
Complains about school each day
Says it’s a boring place to be,
He’d rather play video games,
Then learn Maths and History
And every one of his demands
are answered with great pride,
so little to ask for materialistic items
so easy for his parents to provide.
His every want is answered,
although he could live without,
while her every need is ignored,
and her future left to doubt.

People please appreciate,
Your shelter and education,
Your health, food and water
And all unite as a nation.
So every time you buy something,
That you want and desire,
Save the change for people like her,
and help them get something dire

please vote...it means a lot.
