Broken Promises

You said friends till the end
we were always together
you once dedicated a poem to me
so now I’m returning your favor

I was always so glad to see you
We laughed, we joked, we were good friends
you said nothing will bring us apart,
but I guess friendship always comes to an end.

You listened to me talking about my misery,
And I stayed there when you were crying.
We were always there for each other,
And I still can’t believe this is happening.

I remember you told me:
“We’ll so go to the prom together”
And I replied, “What if we are friends no more?”
but you assured me that our friendship will stay forever
.
You linked my arm every recess,
And I believed that you will always be the same
Sadly, you decided to go to a different way
and I never quite saw it came

After the spring break,
You never smiled to me like you used to
I don’t know what happened, but
the silence between us never got broke through

Now we rarely talk or even say hi, but
Our memories together will never fade away
All those happy and priceless moments
In my heart forever it’ll stay

Even though now our promises are broken,
and you are slowly slipping away
but maybe you think things are better left unspoken,
Because some things are very hard to say

So, I just want you to know
though its really hard for me to let go
of everything we used to share
but I still really do care.
