Life away from home

As tears roll down my cheeks feeling hopeless and alone,
I wish I could take a peek at what life would be like away from home.
Maybe then I would find it all so amusing,
and somehow understand its meaning.
Or maybe ill be living with regrets
and realize what I took for granted was the best.
We lived our lives as if we didnt care when the truth is I cared beyond what I could bare
and thats a feeling I know we both share.
In the future I see a life with you and I living in delight
reminiscing on the past and how that old life is over at last.
And then the tears slowly subside I come back to reality and look into your eyes
I wish I could say that I have you by my side but all I see are lies
and thats where I say goodbye.
