Butterfly

I'm like a butterfly,
I long to fly up high,
I want to weave through the clouds,
I want to wonder the sky,
I want to keep my watch,
On the distant ground,
I'd watch you walking,
I'd never make a sound,
I don't need your attention,
I don't need you to see,
But the love I have for you,
Will always be with me,
I wish you would catch me,
As I'd fall down and die,
I wish you'd look down,
As on the grass I'd lie,
My life is so short,
But my days are so long,
Just praying you'll see me,
Is what keeps me strong,
But like I said I have a short life,
I'm dying within,
Under my colours,
Under my skin,
Under my light wings,
That take me away,
Take me to a peaceful life,
Where I can care for you each day,
But now I am dying,
I'm hanging from a rope,
I'm going to ask for a second life,
As a butterfly I hope...
