REALity

Reality

Reality. . .

hits you hard
knows your weak spots
snatches your moment
kills your dreams

take a knife and make skin bleed
an escapist trick is all i need
get me through the next day i ask
not hard to hide, got a sleeve to mask

smile at friends, fake that beam
pretend your part of life's good team
a minute to cry into your locker space
whatever you do hide that face

moan about homework, scribble it at break
a routine to follow, a routine to fake
wave at mates as you catch them in the hall
but how can they be friends when they didnt know you at all

catch a bus and ride it home
walk to the door and pray that your alone
turn the key and release a tear
tell the doorknob not to fear

a fathers hits and a mothers cry
wont miss them when i reach and die
touch your sister's face on a photo frame
she has a new family and a restart name

the blade is all you really want to see
left right where its meant to be
didnt care what happens in others lives
how many out there are picking up knives

happening all over this god damned earth
happiest moments are meant to be a birth
bringing the innocent and so what are they to be?
exposed to this desperate, unforgiving Reality
