I remember the look in your eyes
on the day I walked away
I told you that I needed time
"I'm sorry" was all I could say.

At one time I felt the love
but now I think the love is gone
so I have to be alone
to find out if I've done something wrong.

I wanted things to work for us
but we've lost a certain "spark"
I thought I'd always be with you
but now my feelings have turned dark.

I cannot explain the way I feel
just know that it's not you
because I still hold you in my heart
but are my feelings really true?

You're a great guy, you deserve the best
but sometimes I think that is not me
maybe one day we'll meet again
and we'll know if we're meant to be.

Do we care the way we think we do
and that is the point that I ponder
am I doing the right thing here
does absence really make the heart grow fonder?
