A Dream’s Worth

A Dream’s Worth

If it’s true that I can fly in dreams
And life is not just what it seems,
Then I may yet escape this cage
And enter life on another stage.
Where new things are possible
And the status quo no longer inevitable.

Each morn as I rise awake
I of such thoughts again partake
Yet as another day goes by
I find again the question “Why...”
Have I not broken free to play
A new role on that particular day?

Perhaps it’s true what they have said
That nothing’s new until you’re dead;
Only then is your spirit free
To soar and fly away with glee
To heights unknown to earth-bound forms
Who must live out life as per given norms.

Sleep is then a preview of
The life which we shall live above
Sweet dreams then to you each night
And may all your dreams take flight
To soar to heights and places sweet
Where you and I will one day meet.

And may your days on earth employ
All that sense of future joy
Which we will share with God ‘s reprieve
When from this life we finally leave.
Take strength, then, from your dreams each night
To live your days with all your might.

"To soar to heights and places sweet
where you and I will one day meet."

    Very eloquent.
