Thinking of you

by ---AL---   Apr 13, 2005

This night I shall not tempt to sleep,
Yet, still I ponder in this dream,
For the time to come is but a leap,
And I do not know if faith shall wean,
But in my hope I do for-see,
The triumph of a flawless night,
Where your perfect smile shall want to be,
To bring reminder of your beauty’s might,
Which took me and thumped my heart,
And above all else, that kinder spirit,
That made me like you from the start,

When you said yes, I felt such merit,
And even now, I pinch myself,
To let me know that this is real,
And not a dream of all the wealth,
But the true adornment of how I feel.

And now I lay here in sleepless wake,
With an angel in my every thought,
And I wonder how God could make,
Such lovely beauty, which you have got,

And now here I lay so tired-eyed,
With nothing much that I can do,
For sleeping I have so very tried,
And a sleepless night shall yet be true,
As long as I still think of you…
