Every Breath

Every breath is twisted…in-to a desperate cry
And I know that if you felt the wind, you’d only want to fly
For there are words that can’t explain, everything I know
And the fewer seeds I hold in my hand, the more I try to sow

I keep waking in the night…longing for the dawn
Longing for a place where I’m neither broken, cold, or torn
I say everything about nothing, and nothing about everything
Because I know you’d taste the bitter cold, just to see the spring

Tell me am I lost…so you think that I am brave?
If only you knew my thoughts inside, and what IT really craves
And I’d wrestle with my doubts, if I thought that you would smile
I’d even play a hopeful tune, but only for a while

For inside I can’t help feeling, that I have started falling
Crawling back inside myself, it’s your name that I am calling
And every breath is twisted…in-to a desperate cry
I know that you will shake your head, as I slowly die...

I think maybe only I will understand this...x

    wow thats is amazing, awesome, excellent, so good, i loved the first lines,
    "Every breath is twisted…in-to a desperate cry

    So beautiful Toni. I'm not really sure what to make of it, but I think each reader will interpret it into something they feel, resulting in eveyrone being able to 'relate.' I doubt this was your intention, but it's a clever poem.
