Not So Happy Ending

by Sierra Rae   Apr 15, 2005

I really want to scream that you broke my heart,
but I don't think you ever had hold control from the start.
I think back now, and there is so much I miss;
but one thing is more important: that I don't believe you're it.

You once tried to trip me,
and physically I never fell;
but you caught me by the heart that day
then threw my world to hell;
I have to let it go now and forget about you,
because I hate the scars you gave me
and the tears you put me through.

I love everything you made me feel when I was out with you,
and I love all the things you taught me baby,
but I'm moving on from you.

I won't wont ever be able to change you,
no matter how hard I try,
You'll always have the heart of a player
when day folds into night.

I once told myself forever, you see,
but like you often did, I lied.
Forever may last forever to some,
but our forever died.
I can't hold onto the memory
of what I thought someday you could be.
At the end of every miserable day now,
all that's left is me.

Now tears well up inside my eyes but I won't let you see me cry.
I won't let your ghost have control of me,
not this time, no not this goodbye.
So, on this note, I leave you
though so much remains unsaid.
I have to forget about you now
your heart, to me, is dead.
