Crying In The Rain

The wind whistles through the trees,
And I silently wish you were here,
I walk on by and bow my head,
Frustratingly wiping away a tear.

Some laughing children run past,
And I can't help but think of you,
Not long ago that was you and I,
We were laughing and joking too.

I pull my coat up further around me,
And quickly tighten up my scarf,
I look up at the miserable sky,
And I realize it's getting dark.

As I make my way home slowly,
It suddenly begins to rain,
I throw my hands up in despair,
It's always the fu**king same.

But then I stop and think to myself,
I could stand here and silently cry,
Because of the rain no-one would notice,
They would smile and walk on by.

So I sit myself on a small park bench,
And let out my terrifying fears,
Hours pass by and it continuously rains,
But no-one notices my tears.

After some time I pick myself up,
And I know I'll be back in a while,
Because here in the rain I can be myself,
I don't have to fake the perfect smile.
