Finding myself

I try to be the best that i can be
but sometimes its not enough
i try to be someone else
but trying can be so tough

if i could be that person
if i could be like her
then maybe people would like me
maybe my life wouldn't be such a blur

by taking over her identity
people will accept and love me
but deep inside i still feel
its not the best i can be

i try to find out who
I'm meant to be
i cant help but think
to myself...if only

if only i had her hair
if only i had her eyes
maybe then people would accept me
maybe then i wouldn't cry

trying to be like her
to the point of changing myself
i have to get out of my life
I've made my own personal hell.

yea, i know i have written better but i put all of my poems in here so i just thought, w/e. this is based on a book called A Separate Piece...its about a boy who becomes jealous of his best friend (reading it in my English class)
