Not So Fairy Tale

by Jessy   Apr 17, 2005

In stories there is no heartbreak.
It ends with loves first kiss,
They never show what happens next.
There is no fight, or nights alone.
The prince never comes home drunk.

In Fairy tales the underdog always wins.
It the ugly duckling becoming the beauty.
Not the ugly duckling left in the shadows.
Pushed out of view,
By all the fake plastic girls.

My life is not like that.
My prince left; he decided he couldn't wait
He couldn't wait for his princess to become a swan
In place of the duckling.
That's not so Fairy tale.

I don't have a happily ever after.
Real life goes further then that first kiss.
If only it could end there.
Then maybe life would be perfect bliss.
Although you have to deal with the facts,
And sister, life isn't so Fairy tale.
