Lullaby

Hush little baby
Don’t you cry
Mommy is going to tell you a
Story tonight.
This little story is about your daddy's life
Your daddy loved you
With all his heart
He tried to give you every thing
When you were just a little baby.
That’s when we got that horrifying call.
He was to be sent off to war.
Your daddy didn’t want to leave you behind.
He told you that he loved you with all of his heart.
And that some day you’ll understand
Why he had to go.
When your daddy went off to war
He wrote you each and every day
Telling you that he loved you with all of his heart.
And that someday he'll come back home for you.
You were his world.
He told you that he's going to come home soon to see you.
As the months ranged on
You grew older and older.
When he wrote that final letter
He told you it’s going to be over in a few more months.
After that letter arrived
The red car pulled up into the drive.
Telling us that your daddy
he died, fighting for his life
He was a war hero
He saved five other soldiers so that they could go home.
Hush little baby don’t you cry
Your daddy loved you with all of his heart.
He never wanted to leave you behind.
One day you'll see your daddy again
You just wait and see.
